Abstract
The continuous demand for reduced treatment duration, enhanced precision, and improved patient experience has accelerated the adoption of advanced technologies in orthodontics, with laser-assisted procedures gaining increasing clinical relevance. the lecture will present a clinically and research-oriented overview of the role of lasers as an adjunctive tool in contemporary orthodontic practice.
Focusing on evidence-based orthodontic applications of laser technology, including acceleration of orthodontic tooth movement through biologically mediated responses, controlled and atraumatic debonding of orthodontic brackets, and soft-tissue surgical interventions such as exposure of impacted teeth and frenectomies. Clinical advantages such as improved surgical precision, reduced intraoperative bleeding, minimized postoperative discomfort, faster healing, and decreased chair time are critically discussed.
Scientific evidence from current literature is integrated with representative clinical cases to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and clinical outcomes of laser-assisted orthodontic procedures. By correlating biological mechanisms with clinical performance, this lecture aims to provide clinicians with a practical, evidence-based framework for incorporating laser technology into their daily orthodontic treatment protocols, thereby enhancing treatment efficiency and optimizing overall treatment outcomes in modern orthodontics.
