Undergraduate Category

For students currently enrolled in a B.D.S./D.D.S. program or interns who have recently completed their dental degree.

This competition aims to showcase excellence in dental research, enhance scientific communication skills, and celebrate innovative ideas that contribute to the advancement of oral health.

Types of Research Accepted

– Clinical Trials/ Pre-Clinical Research: studies involving human subjects, or epidemiology
– Basic Science Research: laboratory-based or animal research

Note: For clinical cases (patient cases), case report: Please apply for the Aesthetic Dentistry MENA Awards 2026.

Competition Structure

Phase 1: Abstract Submission

All participants must submit an abstract summarizing their work.

Abstract Guidelines

  • Word limit: 350 words (excluding title, authors names, and affiliations)
  • Structure:
    • Background / Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion
    • Clinical Significance
  • Title Requirements:
    • Dynamic and conclusive (not merely descriptive)
    • No numbers, acronyms, or abbreviations
    • Not phrased as a question
    • Capitalize each major word
    • Maximum 15 words
  • Authors:
    • List all authors (make sure prior consent obtained from all authors). 
    • Presenting author marked with asterisk (*)
    • Include email and phone number of the presenting author and the main academic supervisor
  • Affiliations:
    • List units from smallest to largest (e.g., Department, College, University, City, Country)

Abstract Review

The Scientific Committee will evaluate abstracts based on:

  • Clarity and organization
  • Scientific merit
  • Innovation and relevance
  • Suitability for poster format

Selected abstracts will advance to Phase 2.

Phase 2: On-Site Poster Presentation 

Finalists will be notified to present their posters at the AI CAD/CAM Digital and Aesthetics 40th Dental ConfEx, which will be held at the Madinat Jumeirah Arena and Conference Centre in Dubai, UAE on 13 to 14 November 2026. Closer to the event, the specific poster presentation schedule and final date will be communicated.

Poster Requirements

Poster Sections:

  • Title
  • Authors & affiliations
  • Presenting author marked with asterisk (*). Only one presenting author; no group presentation. 
  • Each presenter is allowed to deliver only one presentation. However, he/she may participate in additional submissions as co-authors, provided he/she is not listed as the presenting author in the additional submissions. 
  • Introduction / Background
  • Purpose / Objectives
  • Materials & Methods
  • Results / Outcome
  • Discussion / Conclusions 
  • References
  • Acknowledgements (optional)

Formatting:

  • The board will be used vertically
  • Maximum dimensions: 90 (width) × 100 cm (height)
  • Use clear, readable fonts 
  • Ensure high-quality images and graphs
  • Anonymize patient information
  • Attach double-sided tape for mounting

Oral Presentation:

  • 5-minute presentation
  • 3-minute Q&A with judges
    Judging criteria include content, organization, delivery, and engagement.

Awards & Recognition 

Awards will be presented for each category:

  • 1st Place
  • 2nd Place
  • 3rd Place

Winners will receive:

  • Certificate of Achievement
  • Recognition on CAPP social media

For applicants enrolled in a residency, master’s, or Ph.D. program, or who have conducted the submitted research within 2 years of completing their postgraduate degree.
