There is a big misconception that the evidence-based dentistry (EBD) approach is intended for researchers and academicians.The reality is that EBD should be mainly used by the clinicians because the approach aims at empowering the clinician with a strong scientific basis upon which the clinical decision-making process is based.

This presentation will introduce the audience to the concept of EBD and will show how this concept can help the clinicians in making appropriate clinical decisions.

• realize the steps of practicing EBD
• utilize the secondary resources of evidence to make clinical decisions
