Dr. Al-Ansari is Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive Dentistry and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the College of Dentistry, University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia since 2010. He attended King Saudi University (BDS 1990), Lund University, Sweden (MDSc, Prosthodontics, 1998) and Boston University (DScD, Dental Public Health, 2002).

Dr. Al-Ansari is heavily involved in teaching dental public health and evidence-based dentistry to undergraduate students. In addition, he is involved in conducting research in those areas as well as in dental education.

As a Chairman of the Curriculum Committee and the Examination and Assessment Committee, Dr. Al-Ansari was heavily involved in the curriculum reform process which resulted in a new competency-based dental curriculum. In addition, he was instrumental in developing and implementing assessment rubrics and examination blueprints for all dental courses.
