Dr Marcia Martins Marques is a highly respected figure in the field of laser dentistry, with over 30 years of clinical and research experience, particularly in Photobiomodulation Therapy. She holds both a Master’s degree and PhD in Oral Pathology from the prestigious School of Dentistry at the University of São Paulo (FOUSP) in Brazil, where she also serves as a Full Professor.

Dr Marques completed her postdoctoral training in Cell Biology at the renowned National Institutes of Health (NIH)in the United States, further strengthening her scientific foundation. She is a distinguished lecturer in the Master’s programme in Lasers in Dentistry at Sigmund Freud University in Vienna, Austria, and plays an influential role in global academia as Associate Editor of the Journal Lasers in Dental Science.

A recognised leader in her field, Dr Marques is the President of the International Society for Laser Dentistry (ISLD)and the Director of the Research Department at Medlaser – Corporation for Education and Research in Colombia. Over the course of her career, she has authored more than 250 scientific publications, contributing significantly to advancements in laser applications in dentistry.
