Dr. Ana Catarina Nogueira da Silva is a dentist, researcher, and educator specializing in laser applications in dentistry. She graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Porto in 2009 and has pursued extensive postgraduate training in laser dentistry, earning the Mastership in Laser Dentistry (2013), a Master of Science in Laser Dentistry from RWTH Aachen University, Germany (2015), and the European Master Degree in Oral Laser Applications (EMDOLA, 2017).

She completed her PhD at the University of Porto in 2019, focusing on the clinical applications of laser technology in dentistry. Since 2017, she has been involved in academic teaching and research and currently serves as Guest Assistant Professor of Operative Dentistry at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Porto.

Dr. Nogueira da Silva is the founder and director of Portugal’s first Institute of Laser Dentistry, dedicated to advanced education and professional training in laser technologies. She is the author of numerous scientific publications and a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. She also serves on the General Council of the Portuguese Dental Association, represents Portugal at the International Society for Laser Dentistry (ISLD), and was President of the Organizing Committee of the 19th ISLD World Congress, held in Porto in 2024.
