The program, titled “Soft Tissue Grafting around Dental Implants: What Works and What Doesn’t”, explored one of the most complex areas in implant dentistry: the management of peri-implant soft tissues. Participants received an in-depth review of current evidence, protocols, and challenges in grafting procedures, while also engaging in practical training to refine their surgical techniques.
Dr. Ahmed Ashraf, who supervised the training, is an academic and clinician with a background in periodontology and implantology. A graduate with honors from Alexandria University in 2013, he obtained his Master’s degree in 2020 and is currently a PhD candidate. In addition to his teaching role at Alexandria University, he serves as a clinical supervisor for postgraduate programs and is a Key Opinion Leader for Osstem Implant. His expertise spans advanced periodontal and implant surgery, and he has lectured at several international scientific meetings, including the Alexandria International Dental Congress and the Egyptian Academy of Periodontology.
The Dubai course attracted a diverse audience of practitioners, ranging from young dentists to experienced implantologists. The interactive format allowed participants to apply clinical techniques directly, supported by Dr. Ashraf’s supervision. Feedback highlighted the value of combining academic insights with practical skills in a single program.
This collaboration between CAPP and Osstem Implant reflects the growing emphasis on advanced postgraduate training in the region. As implant dentistry evolves, such initiatives provide dental professionals with opportunities to align with global best practices while meeting the needs of their local patient communities.
