Haleon South Africa and CAPP jointly host webinar on Prevention and Management of Plaque-Induced Gingivitis

Haleon South Africa and CAPP jointly hosted an educational webinar via the Haleon Health Portal focused on the prevention and management of plaque-induced gingivitis. Featuring Prof. Hugo Grancho Pinto and moderated by Dr. Maurizio Martini, Italy, the session delivered an evidence-based overview of one of the most prevalent inflammatory conditions affecting the periodontium and emphasized its reversibility when diagnosed and managed early.

During the webinar, Prof. Pinto examined the etiology and pathogenesis of plaque-induced gingival inflammation, highlighting the role of dental biofilm, host response, and the local and systemic risk factors that contribute to disease development. The session also reviewed current diagnostic criteria and clinical indicators to support early detection and accurate assessment in everyday practice, while reinforcing the importance of combining clinical care with patient-centered prevention strategies.

Held on 25 February 2026, the webinar generated strong engagement from the professional community, recording 952 registrations and 647 attendees.
