 The Interrelation of Periodontal and Restorative Aesthetic Dentistry


An often-overlooked aspect of aesthetic restorative dentistry is the role the gingival and periodontal tissues play in achieving the optimum aesthetic result.


This course looks in detail how we can assess and treat these potential aesthetic pitfalls.


The two days will cover:

  • What is meant by the term “periodontal aesthetics”.
  • Explore how to do an aesthetic periodontal assessment
  • Discuss soft and hard tissue aesthetic integration 
  • Review the options for periodontal aesthetic surgical treatment
  • Practical experience with surgical techniques to achieve optimum periodontal aesthetics


The participants will be able to:

  • Carry out a comprehensive periodontal aesthetic assessment
  • Understand the relationship between gingival contour and aesthetics
  • Be able to discuss how periodontal aesthetics will improve restorative aesthetics
  • Be able to discuss relevant surgical procedures with patients
