Face-to-Face Training | Dubai (full day)Abstract
Periodontal regeneration of intrabony defects has come a long way from when it was first introduced several decades ago and it now moving more and more towards a minimally-invasive approach, aiming to reduce time and costs as well as patient morbidity. This course will show a clear treatment algorithm, starting from the application of Minimally-invasive non-surgical periodontal therapy (MINST), based on stimulation of the formation of a stable blood clot and leading to very impressive clinical results. Surgical techniques and biomaterials have also evolved and should be applied to defects presenting residual pockets after non-surgical therapy. The course will review the evidence for papilla-preservation techniques and for various types of minimally-invasive surgical approaches for the regeneration of intrabony defects. The hands-on aspects will cover both surgical and non-surgical techniques, describing instruments and biomaterials needed.

Learning objectives
- Understand how the anatomy of periodontal intrabony defects can shape their treatment towards regeneration.
- Understand the modern concepts of periodontal regeneration.
- Familiarise with the concepts of minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy.
- Have a clear plan for how to approach intrabony defects to maximise their healing potential.
- Learn how to do different minimally invasive periodontal surgical techniques.
