Simplified endodontics in daily practice: Greater efficiency and less stress

Abstract

Root canal treatment can be challenging and stressful. This lecture aims to give clinicians practical tools to make treatment simpler, improve efficiency and reduce stress, while following key biological and clinical principles.

We will discuss how magnification and ultrasonic tips can help with access preparation and canal location. We will explain canal instrumentation in three stages: the coronal, middle and apical thirds. This approach gives each stage a clear purpose and helps clinicians work step by step. We will also discuss instrument motion and how it affects canal shaping.

Finally, we will present single-cone obturation with a bioceramic sealer, including the clinical steps, advantages and limitations.

Clinical cases will show how to bring these steps together in daily practice. The aim is to help clinicians understand what to do, how to do it and why, so they can treat patients with more confidence and less stress.

Learning objectives

By the end of the lecture, participants should be able to:

  • Explain how a clear treatment sequence can help simplify endodontic care and reduce stress.
  • Discuss the use of magnification and ultrasonic tips for access preparation and canal location.
  • Describe how to prepare the coronal, middle and apical thirds in a step-by-step sequence.
  • Explain the role of instrument motion in canal shaping.
  • Describe the steps of single-cone obturation with a bioceramic sealer and discuss its advantages and limitations.
