Abstract

Traumatic dental injuries are common incidents that might occur at any age, more frequently in children, especially when specific malocclusions are associated.

The proper orthodontic protocol and the spectrum of associated treatment can vary from prevention in growing children to a multidisciplinary dental approach in adults. Therefore, It is important to understand the most relevant factors that might increase the risk of dental trauma in order to establish a proper diagnosis,
treatment planning and follow-up to assure a favorable outcome.
