Ceramic veneers have already been established as a valuable treatment modality in the aesthetic zone.Ceramic abutments have already been established as a valuable treatment modality in the aesthetic zone. Zirconia has been the material of choice due to the inherent mechanical properties, used even in direct contact with the internal or external implants connection.
The high opacity and the aging of this material are being discussed in the recent years. The development of lithium disilicate in IPS e.max new blocks and techniques allow the use of this material for implant abutments not only in anterior but also in posterior areas. The advanced optical properties of lithium disilicate allow the light transmission in the cervical area of the implant crown.
Moreover the correct use of adhesive cementation techniques (Multilink and Variolink esthetic) for the ceramic-titanium sleeve connection and final IPS e.max crown allows the construction of implant crowns with a natural appearance.
This presentation will focus on the methodology and treatment sequencing for the single implant-abutment-crown complex in the aesthetic zone. Moreover, various abutment solutions will be discussed and a variety of clinical cases will be presented.
