Course Outline

Understanding advanced endodontic problems.

Hands-on:
Reciprocating Niti and carrier-based thermoplastic obturation techniques.

Course Aims:

DAY 1
To understand the pathogenesis and treatment of internal and external resorption. To understand the interface between restorative dentistry and endodontics to give maximum survival and success rates. To understand the balance between endodontics and implants in restorative dentistry.
DAY 2
To understand how shape memory instruments can be advantageous in endodontic therapy. To understand how to use shape memory instruments to safely negotiate and predictable shape canals. Be able to understand the role of heat in root canal obturation.

Course Objectives

DAY 1
Delegates will be able to understand the development and treatment of internal and external resorption lesions. Be able to apply the principles of restorative dentistry to prevent failure of endodontically treated teeth. Be able to develop a science-based knowledge on the success of endodontic and implant treatments.

DAY 2
Delegates will have a clear understanding of how to use shape memory instruments in glide path management and shaping root canals. Be able to evaluate the use of the squirt technique, warm vertical compaction and continuous wave of compaction in 3-dimensional obturation of root canals.
